I will not use profanity, swearing, vulgar or offensive language in my posts at any time. A 'rude hand gesture' or 'swearing loudly' in my post is sufficient to get the point across without explicit words.
I agree not to discriminate against, flame or harass any members at this site. Any in-character discrimination shall mimic canon likenesses and shall not be of a nature that may be offensive to members of the site.
I will not include themes of rape, slash, sexual violence or detailed romantic/sexual involvement. 'Snogging' scenes and mild innuendo are acceptable.
I agree not to write another character's actions in a manner that is not consistent with their creator's intentions. I will either ask for permission to write another's actions or allow the character to react to plot events in their own manner.
I agree that realism is important and will post in a manner consistent to the timeline, guidelines and background laid forth for this site.
I realize that elves in the HP universe are like Dobby, not Arwen.
I understand that in canon, nearly everyone fears werewolves, vampires, giants, and other dangerous creatures. Therefore, they will be somewhat limited in their ability to fit into wizarding society or Hogwarts.
I agree that rare half-breed characters will not often be allowed and will only be accepted on a case-by-case basis. I also agree that animagi and metamorphmagi characters are limited due to their rarity.
I understand that no one is perfect or god-like in the HP Universe, and I will provide flaws in my character and allow accidents or mistakes to happen. I realize that my character cannot be prepared at all times. I will not carry extra wands in my back pocket, have unlimited supplies of polyjuice potions or be gifted with a multitude of rare gifts and powers.
I will not use netspeak, write out of character [OOC] in RP threads or write in short, choppy sentences. I will make an attempt at proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
I will not write in first person narrative [example: *goes to the door. Opens it*]
I will not post in color or use text that is distracting to those reading.
I will not place images or large amounts of text in the signature area of my posts.
I agree that avatar images will be tasteful and realistic for my character's age. I will post the name of the actor/model/person who represents my character in the proper thread and will not use a personage if it has already been reserved.
I understand that I have every right to notify an administrator if I experience harassment in any form.
I will 'Report to Moderator' if I see SPAM posts in threads, receive SPAM in my personal messages or receive any offensive contact from another member of the site.
I will post a notification in the 'Members Coming & Going' thread if I will be away for an extended absence, and I understand that if I fail to do so, my characters may be placed in inactive status.
I am aware that if an important canon character is in inactive status, another member may be allowed to take over posting of the character permanently.
I understand that if I consistently drop characters to make new ones, further applications may be rejected.
I agree that use of warnings, suspension and banning may be used against problematic members of the community, and in extreme cases the perpetrator's Internet Service Provider may be contacted if the behavior does not stop.
I will not post any personal information that may put me at risk. I will not post my full name, address, school name, location, or any identifying information that a criminal could use for purposes of abduction or other crimes against me.
If I am uncertain whether an item or plotline would be considered realistic, I will contact a member of the admin team for clarification before posting it.
I will post in third person at all times. [example: "Jake walked to the door, turned the handle and stepped inside the room."]
As set forth in the introduction, I will abide by the code of conduct and report members who are breaking the code to the administrative team.
